Mrs. W.T. Smith
Margaret Adeline Smith was born in Wayne Co., Penn., Sept. 27, 1832 and died in Amboy, Ill., Sept. 11, 1916.
She was married in 1854 to Wesley T. Smith who departed this life in April 1911. She was the mother of six children three of whom were living at the time of her death, Mrs. Julia Cullar, Chas. T. Smith and Mrs. Ella Morris who passed away three days later. There are nine grandchildren living.
At an early age she united with the Baptist church of which she was always an active member.
The Smith and Morris families have lived in this community for a number of years. They have been closely identified with all the activities of the Baptist church, and with all movements for good citizenship and public spirit. Mrs. Morris and Mrs. Cullar have been active and useful members of the Amboy Women’s Club and the Order of the Eastern Star. The younger members of the family have been educated in the Amboy schools and are leaders in the social life of the young people. The sympathy of a great many friends will be with the family in their hours of dark sorrow.
